I spent most of Saturday exploring St-Denis, and the evening was spent at a show they called "Blood on My Nikes", at which Wampa and Construct and Wally and Risk played. Risk is a live dubstep group, with a bassist and a drummer (with a kick bass and a drum machine) and a vocalist all wired into a computer being controlled by Wally, who mixes it all together with his own samples. This video doesn't do them justice at all.

Sunday I went to Mont Royal for TamTams again. I beat Li to the park, and I hung out with his friend Bernard while I was waiting. I sat with him and his roommate and their friends-- all Francophones. It was awesome sitting with them and listening to them chat, and it definitely further proved how helpful immersion is. Gotta to stop hanging out with English-speakers, like now. I've got less than a month left here! Eeeep. Anyway, Li arrived and we sat and hung out with people in the grass for a long time. The night concluded with a young mom and her little daughter spinning poi. It was adorable.

The park is a legit forest. Dense treez.

AHHHH PUPPY! There were soooo many puppies there. So many.

C'est moiiii, courtesy of Monsieur Bernard

Voilà Monsieur Bernard!

Et ça c'est Li!

AAAHHHHHH

Et la petite fille qui a fait le poi!

Today I went to Romados again, because... well, it's absolutely phenomenal. I have to say again that they have perfected the art of Portuguese rotisserie. Ah god c'est magnifique. I walked around and took some photos until it started raining, at which point I headed home to kick it with Taurean and Elfi and her brother Redouane, who just flew in from Paris. Taurean and I went to l'Intermarché to pick up the ingredients for our wonderful steak and potato and zucchini and champignon dinner. Will came over around 11, and we sat on the porch for a couple of hours talking with Redouane. It was absolutely wonderful because Redouane doesn't know English! Yay! Will's been learning via podcast or something for the past month, and I've been taking it for years. So when either he or Redouane struggled, I was able to help translate. Feeling bilingual feels amazing. :D

Belle fleur. :)

I want to live in this building. Look at that tree! It's enormous!

These spiral staircases are adorable. They're everywhere, and I want them in Denver.

More art.

La vie c'est bonne. :)
