egg cratons

Well, today will be day 3 living in Philadelphia.

It's still sinking in that I live here, partially because it's...only been three days... and also because I haven't really unpacked any of my crap yet since Aso said he's taking back allllllll of his furniture.

The past couple days have been pretty laid back. Went to Silver City with Will on Tuesday night for the Saturn Never Sleeps album release party. SNS consists of King Britt (Electronic producer out of Philly who used to tour with Digable Planets--awesooooome) and this really amazing vocalist, Rucyl. They remind me of a garage-y combination of Trentemøller and Thievery. And Bonobo. And Shlohmo. Sooo gooooood, check them out heeeere. Additionally there was a guy, LushLife, who was MC'ing and playing his own beats and improv'ing with effects and stuff--really awesome overall, except about two songs in, he knocked his laptop over, annihilating the screen and ending his performance. Following him was this über hipstery-looking UK guy named Erik Rico, who pretty much gave the most ridiculously talented live vocal performance I had ever seen. Whether that's saying something about how many live vocal performances I've seen or not is up to you, but this guy was AMAZINGGGGGG.

Yesterday we helped Jon and Cary move into their new place in South Philly. Since Will's got a car now, all the driving around the city has been really helpful in me getting a general idea of how the city's laid out. Which is glorious. Later we went to the copy center for resumé-printing, and then did some applying. Possible catering job in the very near future, which is exciting and leaves me thinking, "Are we having fun yet?!"

Things to do include establishing a steady income, obtaining a (sofa)bed, and settling in my room. Yeeeeeah.

Did I mention I acquired an APC-40 from Will? It's making Modul8 about 10,000 times cooler. I'm so pumped!
