These are the breaks!

Sunday evening Will and I rode bikes to South St, where we wandered and got "wooder" ice and phenomenal Thai food from Tamarind. In that order, of course. From there, we rode all the way to a show at a venue called Bookspace in Northern Liberties. Very aptly named, Bookspace is a huge warehouse filled with shelves upon shelves upon shelves of books. Also art. And...a Volvo. It's a very hip place I could imagine doing really well in Denver, somewhere on Cap Hill. Among the bands was one called Your Sister's Canary. They're really good, look 'em up. Some girl dressed like Peter Pan spun fire poi outside, which was bizarre for an indie show.. And everyone was really into it! I can't see it having the same effect in Denver. People would say, "Go the hell back to Cervantes where you belong." I came home to a break-up text (lolz), stayed up watching YouTube videos with Will, and crashed around 3:30.

Monday we took a train to Elizabethtown (rural PA!) to get his passport from his parents' house and hang out in his hometown for a day. His parents are awesome, very fun and artsy, and they're both ridiculously talented cooks. That night we went to a beer garden terrasse thing at a place called Bube's (endless lolz). Surprisingly, not a strip club. We hung out with his friend Eric there and discussed travel and music. Then we went to The Watering Trough, where we met up with his friends Brad and Wyatt, and I commandeered the juke box and put on bitchin' choons such as "Another Night" by The Real McCoy and "Moondance" by Van Morrisson.

The next day we hiked up Mt. Gretna to the firetower, atop which we sat for about an hour and a half. I thought an hour and a half of sun-exposure would put a bit of color on my legs, but of COURSE my shoulders are bright red and my legs are just as white as they've always been. I think I have a condition. UV-resistant legs. That night his parents made the most amazing supper of scallops with a cucumber salad and a bean salad. Afterwards we had watermelon of the yellow variety (whaaaaaaat?!) and hopped on a train bound for Philly.

I did a bit of drawing today while Will worked on another song, then we got some enormous cheesesteaks (deliciouuusssss) and prepared for Canadatrip. Early Friday we're taking a bus to NYC, and from there we are catching a ride to MTL, finally.

The purpose of this trip has changed a bit over the past few days, and I think now is the time to do what I have wanted to do since high school.

Yessir, yessir. Change is gonna come.
