More on last night, since the last entry was so brief: Will, the Philadelphian I met (thanks Craigslist) and I found an enormous park outside Little Italy and walked around discussing music and family and home and the like. He's a music industry major at Drexel and he's here for a work study kind of thing for his friend's record label, also until September. It's nice to know somebody now who gets my sense of humor. The recurring blank stares in response to my jokes have been killing me!

This morning I walked further up Mile End to do some laundry. It was cooler and I was in a dress, so the walk was far from miserable. I couldn't find the laundromat Elfi had shown me and while I was lost, it started pouring. I took shelter inside Café Olympico and had an amazing latte while I waited for the monsoon to subside. It was over in less than five minutes, and the sun returned. I walked a few doors down and found another laundromat and got my clothes started. I grabbed a sandwich down the street and walked around while I ate.

I found this alley between these houses with all this art on the walls. I left my camera at home so I got some videoooo.

It was when I went back to the laundromat to switch my stuff into the dryer and sat outside with some jus d'orange, that the clouds rolled back in.

(Max, this is where I was sitting when I emailed you back.)

Following that video came another torrential downpour, this time lasting about half an hour. It stopped for just enough time for me to walk home. Now I'm here! Not sure what the rest of the day has in store for me, probably more rain, more reading, more Bored to Death, more Man on Wire... Not sure, we'll see. :)
